Marx in Soho
posted: Feb 26, '07 2:06PM updated: Feb 20, '08 10:44AMMarx is back! The premise of this witty and insightful "play on history" is that Karl Marx has agitated with the authorities of the afterlife for a chance to clear his name. Through a bureaucratic error, though, Marx is sent to Soho in New York, rather than his old stomping ground in London, to make his case. Promises to be a witty night written by Howard Zinn featuring Robert Weick as Karl Marx.
"Howard Zinn says the actor, Bob Weick, gives the best performance he has ever seen. It is powerful, funny, moving, illuminating, and thought provoking! It is understandable to want to stay in on a night like this, but I promise you that you will be glad you came...! Last night a full house gave a standing ovation... "
- Eve Lyman, Boston Mobilization
Howard Zinn is professor emeritus at Boston University. He is the author of the classic 'A People's History of the United States'. Zinn recently received the Lannan Foundation Literary Award for Nonfiction and the Eugene V. Debs award for his writing and political activism.
